Camping, caravan sites, and dog-friendly cabins on a 32-acre site with a large off-leash area on the property. There's an on-site dog wash for post-adventure cleanups, plus on-site kennel options if you need to leave your dog briefly while you head somewhere they can't go. Good base for the northern Gold Coast and theme parks.

QT Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise

Address: 7 Staghorn Avenue, Surfers Paradise

Five-star hotel with dedicated "Pup Yeah" rooms. The package includes designer dog bedding, food and water bowls, in-room dog menus and a pup mini-bar. The full hotel facilities are available to humans, and the location puts you walking distance to the beach. The dearer end of the spectrum but a properly thought-out experience for dogs.

Novotel Surfers Paradise

"Pups in Paradise" rooms on level 6 with private balconies. Each room comes with a tennis ball, food and water bowls, and a comfortable bed. There's a grassy area on level 5 for fetch breaks. Solid mid-range option in the heart of Surfers.

Pet-friendly serviced apartments ranging from studios to three-bedroom suites. Better suited to longer stays or business travellers who want their dog along. Quiet location with parks nearby for daily walks.

Jacobs Well Tourist Park

Quieter, more affordable option on a stunning waterway in the northern Gold Coast. Sandy shores, fishing, boating, and shaded picnic areas. Suits owners who want a low-key, nature-focused stay rather than the bustle of central Surfers or Burleigh.

Cedar Creek Lodges and Woodland Glamping Tents, Tamborine Mountain

Address: 639 Tamborine Mountain Road

Hinterland option with two formats: traditional creek lodges or glamping tents with private decks overlooking rainforest. Cooler than the coast in summer, surrounded by walking tracks. Dogs are welcome but not on the bed (their rule, not ours). Worth the drive up if you want a temperature drop and a proper escape.

Kirra Beach Tourist Park, Coolangatta

Address: 10 Charlotte Street, Coolangatta

Camping, caravan sites and dog-friendly cabins minutes from one of the Gold Coast's most iconic beaches. There's a grassy parkland next door for off-lead time and a dog wash on site. Great for southern Gold Coast access including Tweed Heads and Currumbin.

Booking tips

• Confirm the pet policy at the time of booking. Some venues charge extra cleaning fees, some have weight or breed restrictions, some require advance notice.
• School holidays book out fast. If you're targeting a Christmas, Easter or July holiday, lock it in months ahead.
• Bring familiar items. Your dog's bed, a favourite toy, and their usual food make new accommodation feel less foreign.
• Walk before check-in. A solid walk before settling into a new room helps dogs adjust faster.
