That’s why we created our Puppy Introduction Groom—a specialised, gentle session designed to build confidence, reduce fear, and help your pup learn that the salon can be a calm and positive space.

Puppies are like little sponges—eager to learn but easily overwhelmed. Loud sounds, strange tools, and new handling can be intimidating if introduced too fast or without care. That’s where our Puppy Introduction Groom comes in. It’s not about pushing a full groom too soon—it’s about helping your puppy explore the grooming environment safely, slowly, and at their own pace.

What’s Included in the Puppy Introduction Groom

This is a soft, supportive session focused on gentle handling and gradual desensitisation. It includes:

A light hygiene trim to keep things clean and comfortable

Soft brushing to help your puppy adjust to grooming tools

Face, leg, and paw tidies to familiarise them with gentle touch and movement

Nail clipping for positive early exposure to paw handling

Exposure to the clippers and blow dryer, turned on nearby—not used—so they can learn the sounds aren’t scary

We tailor every session to your puppy’s personality and tolerance. If they’re feeling unsure, we go slower. If they’re confident and playful, we gently build on that. Our goal is never perfection—it’s positive association.

Reducing Anxiety from Day One

Many dogs develop grooming anxiety because they were rushed through stressful early experiences. We do things differently. Our low-volume, calm salon environment in Miami (just minutes from Burleigh Heads) helps keep things relaxed from the moment your puppy walks in. Important Note

This service does not automatically include a bath. If you’d like your puppy washed as part of their session, simply select it as an add-on when booking. We use a gentle puppy shampoo, specially formulated for sensitive young skin.
