Dog Grooming Careers on the Gold Coast

We're hiring

Work at Pets Juicy

Looking for experienced groomers and daycare assistants to join the Miami studio. Calm work, fair pay, real perks, and a team that won't burn you out.

Who we are, briefly

Pets Juicy is a dog grooming, washing and daycare studio in Miami on the Gold Coast. We were started by Trent and James in August 2024. The studio runs at low volume on purpose. Every dog gets one-on-one attention from their groomer, calm energy in the background, no production-line bookings. We sit at a 5 star average on Google, which we keep where it is by hiring people who care about the work.

What we're hiring for

Grooming

Experienced Dog Groomer

Full grooms, breed-specific cuts, hygiene work, deshed treatments, baths. You should be confident handling short and long coats across small, medium and large dogs, and comfortable adapting your approach to nervous or sensitive dogs without forcing the issue.

Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 8am to 4pm. Some flexibility on days possible.

Daycare

Daycare Assistant

Supervising small play groups, managing the rest zones, basic studio cleaning, drop-off and pickup chats with clients. Suits someone who reads dog body language well and can keep a calm room calm. No grooming experience needed, but a genuine interest in dog behaviour helps.

Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 8am to 4pm. Part-time and casual considered.

Why work here

What you actually get

The honest version, not the recruitment-poster version.

  • One-on-one grooming. No stacked bookings, no shared bench. You get to do the job properly without rushing through it.
  • Quieter studio than most. Low-volume environment, calm music, dryers we picked because they're not industrial. Your ears and your nervous system will thank you.
  • Pay that matches the work. Competitive rates based on experience. We'd rather pay properly than churn through staff.
  • Free Pets Juicy daycare for your own dog. Bring them to work if it suits the day, or use the daycare anytime you need.
  • Free access to Paint Juicy events. Our sister business is a paint and sip company. Free tickets for you and a plus one whenever a session has space.
  • Snacks, drinks and proper coffee. Stocked all day. Lunch break long enough to actually eat lunch.
  • Career growth. We're growing, and we want the people who join early to grow with us. Senior groomer, training, lead positions, all on the table.
  • The beach is right there. Lunch swim or post-shift surf is part of the job's geography.

Who we're looking for

We hire for attitude as much as skill. The technical side we can teach. The other side is harder.

  • Calm under pressure. Dogs read your energy. If you're flustered, they're flustered. The best groomers and daycare staff we've worked with are the ones who don't escalate.
  • Honest with clients. If a dog's coat is matted and a full groom isn't realistic, we tell the client. If something's not right with a dog's skin, we mention it. We don't oversell, undersell, or skip the awkward conversations.
  • Detail-driven. Tidy paws. Clean ears. Symmetrical face. The small stuff is what separates a five-star groom from an okay one.
  • Team-first. Small team, no hierarchy games. If someone's drowning, you jump in. Nobody hides behind a job description.

Formal grooming qualifications are a plus but not a requirement for the groomer role. Demonstrated experience matters more. For the daycare role, no certifications needed.

A normal day at the studio

The first dogs arrive around 8am. You'll have your day's bookings on the screen, with notes from previous visits where they exist. You take each dog into your area, do the work, take photos for the client, and check in with them at pickup. Lunch is taken in shifts so the studio is always staffed. Quiet music, decent coffee, dogs everywhere. By 4pm the last pickups are done and the studio gets a proper clean before tomorrow.

Some days are big breed cuts, some days are mostly washes, most days are a mix. We don't double-book, so the schedule is what it says it is.
