Proud Partner of Miami Beach Surf Life Saving Club

Pets Juicy is a small dog studio on Mountain View Avenue in Miami, and this season we're proud to stand behind the Miami Beach Nippers. This page isn't about grooming. It's about the stretch of coast we call home, and the people who keep it safe.

Southern Gold Coast locals, sand and all

We're Trent and James, and the southern end of the Gold Coast has been home for years. Burleigh, Palm Beach, Miami and every street in between. It's where we walk our own dogs, have a swim when the water's glassy, and run into familiar faces wherever we go.

When we opened Pets Juicy in Miami, we wanted it to feel like the coast we know: calm, friendly and a little bit sandy around the edges. Shane and the crew look after the dogs. The neighbourhood looks after us. Backing the local surf club felt like the most natural way to say thanks.

Meet Miami Beach Surf Life Saving Club

Miami Beach Surf Life Saving Club logo

Just down the road on Hythe Street, Miami Beach Surf Life Saving Club has been part of this beach since 16 March 1947, when six members from Southport SLSC got it started. The clubhouse began as a timber shack. These days the club is around 600 members strong, and its volunteer lifesavers keep watch over Miami's beach through the season.

It has a reputation as one of the more close-knit clubs on the Gold Coast. It also runs without gaming machines, so the focus stays on members and their families, which tells you a lot about the place.

Since 1947

Started by six members from Southport SLSC, the club has been looking after Miami's beach for nearly 80 years.

Around 600 members

From a timber shack that supported ten people to a club of around 600, and still known for being close-knit.

Nippers since 1990

The Nipper program started in 1990 and sits at the heart of the club's family feel.

Why we're backing the Nippers

Nippers is where local kids learn to read the surf, respect the water and look out for the person next to them. Those lessons stick for life, and they make the whole beach a safer place for everyone on it.

We didn't want to sponsor something from a distance. Nipper mornings happen just up the road from our door, plenty of the families on the sand are the same ones who bring their dogs to us, and the club's idea of looking after your own is pretty much how we try to run the studio.

Sandy paws, salty towels

Beach life down this end of the coast is a family affair, and for most families that includes the dog. The kids come home from the beach with sand in everything, and the dog is usually right behind them. That's the part of the day we look after.

Heading to the beach with your dog? The City of Gold Coast's designated off-leash beaches closest to Miami are Tallebudgera Beach and Palm Beach, and Ernie Tebb Park on Mountain View Avenue has an off-leash area too. Check the council signs before they run.

What our support looks like this season

  • We're a sponsor of the club for the 2026/27 Nipper season, September 2026 to April 2027.
  • Keep an eye out for our name on a few of the Nipper boards.
  • We've donated Pets Juicy grooming vouchers to the club.
  • You'll see the club's logo across our website and emails, because we're proud of it.

Want to know more about the club, or get the kids into Nippers? Start with the Miami Beach Surf Life Saving Club website (opens in a new tab).
