Collection: Dog Grooming on the Gold Coast

Miami, Gold Coast

Calm dog grooming, done properly

Full grooms, breed cuts, hygiene tidies and deshed treatments. One dog at a time per groomer, salon-quality products, no production-line bookings.

Why a regular groom matters

Grooming isn't just cosmetic. A coat that's brushed out, washed and trimmed regularly stays healthier, picks up parasites less often, and gives us a chance to spot lumps, hot spots and skin issues before they become vet visits. Regular grooming also keeps the dog used to handling, which means fewer fights at the next visit and a calmer time at the vet.

Most long or curly coats need a full groom every 4 to 8 weeks with a tidy in between. Short coats can stretch longer. We'll suggest a schedule that fits your dog's coat and your lifestyle at the first visit, no pressure to commit.

What we look at

Four things every groom covers

Skin and coat

Healthy not just tidy

Routine deshedding, brush-outs and proper coat care prevent matting and skin irritation before they start. The right shampoo and dryer settings matter more than most people realise.

Hygiene

The bits that get missed

Clean faces, sanitary areas, paw pads and ears. The stuff a quick home wash skips, that turns into discomfort and infections if it's left alone month after month.

Comfort

Even trims, no surprises

Symmetrical face, clean lines, lengths that match between sessions. Dogs feel the difference between a careful trim and a rushed one. So do their owners.

Watching out

Early issue spotting

We're hands-on with your dog for an hour. We notice lumps, hot spots, parasites, ear issues. We tell you at pickup so you can decide whether it needs a vet, no panic, no pushing.

Step by step

What a typical groom looks like

Paced for comfort. Breaks happen when dogs need them, not when the schedule says so.

  • Coat and skin assessment. Two minutes at the start to choose products and plan the cut around what's actually there.
  • Pre-groom brush. Clears knots and loose hair before the bath, which makes the rest of the session easier on the dog.
  • Warm wash. Salon-quality shampoo, water at a comfortable temperature, no cold-hose nonsense.
  • Blow dry. At a comfortable noise level and temperature, finished with a brush through for a smooth set.
  • Clip or scissor. Either a breed-specific cut or a practical pet trim, depending on what you asked for.
  • Hygiene details. Ears, nails, paw pads and rear. Boring but essential.
  • Final brush and check. Plus notes on coat care between visits if there's anything to mention.

Grooming services we offer

  • Full groom. Wash, blow dry, brush-out, clip or scissor to suit your dog's breed or lifestyle, ears cleaned, nails trimmed, hygiene tidy.
  • Tidy trim. Neaten face, feet, fringes and sanitary areas between full grooms. Quick, useful, less than a full session.
  • Puppy intro groom. Short, gentle sessions for puppies under six months. Builds confidence with the tools before we ever try a full groom. Read more about the puppy intro.
  • Deshed for double coats. Proper undercoat removal with bathing and drying that protects the topcoat. Makes a real dent in the hair around your house.
  • Add-ons. Sensitive-skin shampoo, flea and tick baths, conditioning treatments, dematting where it's kinder than a clip.

Puppies, seniors and nervous dogs

Shorter sessions, soft handling, clear communication. We introduce equipment gradually, take more breaks, and stop early if a dog tells us they've had enough. The goal is a dog who walks in willingly the second time, not one who got through the first session and never wants to come back.

If it's a first visit and the dog is young or anxious, the puppy intro groom is the right place to start, even for older dogs new to grooming.

FAQ

Common questions

How often should my dog be groomed?

Most long or curly coats need a full groom every 4 to 8 weeks, with a tidy trim in between. Short coats can go longer. We'll recommend a schedule that suits your dog's coat and lifestyle at check-in.

Can I stay while my dog is groomed?

Generally not. Most dogs settle faster when the owner isn't visible. Drop-off is quick, we send updates if you'd like, and we let you know when they're ready.

Do you groom all breeds?

Yes, from tiny toy breeds to large dogs, all coat types including curly, wiry, double-coated, long and short. We'll confirm the right approach for your dog's breed and condition at check-in.

What if my dog is matted?

We'll assess at check-in and give you honest advice. Sometimes dematting is doable. Sometimes a shorter clip is the kinder option. We always explain what's needed and why before we start, no surprises.

What products do you use?

Melanie Newman Salon Essentials as our default, an Australian-made professional range that cleans without stripping the natural oils that keep coats healthy. Sensitive-skin alternatives are available on request.

Do you accept Afterpay?

Yes. Pay for any eligible grooming service in four interest-free instalments with Afterpay at checkout.

Where are you located?

1/22 Mountain View Ave, Miami QLD 4220. Easy access from Burleigh Heads, Robina, Mermaid Waters, Mermaid Beach, Nobby Beach, Palm Beach, Elanora, Currumbin, Tugun, Varsity Lakes, Reedy Creek, Broadbeach and Clear Island Waters.

Pair grooming with daycare or a wash

Drop your dog off for daycare, pick up clean and trimmed at the end. We bundle services so they happen in one visit. Or if your dog doesn't need a full groom and just wants the bath part, the washing service handles that on its own. Daycare bookings get $10 off when paired with a full-day visit.
