Reedy Creek with a dog: the short answer
Reedy Creek is a leafy, big-block suburb on the Gold Coast's hinterland edge, and it does dogs better than its quiet streets suggest. There's a fenced off-leash area at Tourmaline Reserve, a second off-leash area at Wonga Park, and bushland where dogs can walk on a lead. There's no cafe strip, so coffee or a beer with the dog means a short drive down to Burleigh. And the conservation areas next door in Bonogin ban dogs entirely. We're the groomers down the hill in Miami, and Reedy Creek dogs are some of our most reliably muddy regulars.
Park rules below come from City of Gold Coast pages and the council's Animal Control Area Register (updated 28/07/2026). If a sign says otherwise, the sign wins.
Off-leash parks in Reedy Creek
Tourmaline Reserve, Reedy Creek. The suburb's fenced off-leash area, at 6 Barden Ridge Road, with a drinking fountain and water tap, plus a picnic shelter and barbecues for the humans. Dogs stay out of the playground, as they do in every Gold Coast park. See the council's Tourmaline Reserve page.
Wonga Park, Reedy Creek. A designated off-leash area on Cowell Drive, in a park that's part of the koala corridor between Burleigh Head National Park and Springbrook. The City is replanting koala habitat here into 2031, and its upgrade plan includes a new fenced off-leash area. Part of the park is a dog prohibited area, so read the entrance signs and keep the lead on outside the off-leash zone. The Wonga Park upgrade page has the latest.
A short drive away, Frascott Park in Varsity Lakes has two fenced areas with agility gear, Burleigh Lake Park in Burleigh Waters has a large off-leash area, and Hinterland Regional Park in Mudgeeraba has a fenced agility area. Our fenced and off-leash dog parks guide covers the rest.
Bush walks: on a lead, and know the no-go zones
Glossy Black Reserve, Reedy Creek. Over 100 hectares of eucalypt forest and around 14 kilometres of trails, shared with koalas, wallabies and glossy black cockatoos. Dogs walk on a lead on the shared use trails, and walkers stay off the mountain bike trails. Enter from the end of Barden Ridge Road or Golden Grove Boulevarde. The City's Glossy Black Reserve page listed it as closed on 13/10/2026, so check before you go.
Observatory Park, Reedy Creek. Mostly natural bushland at 36 Grassland Crescent, right for a shorter on-lead stroll.
The Bonogin conservation areas are council dog prohibited areas, lead or no lead, and Queensland national parks like Springbrook ban dogs too. Our Gold Coast dog walks guide has the legal options further out.
Coffee and a beer with your dog
Burleigh Brewing Taphouse, Burleigh Heads. The brewery's own FAQ welcomes well-behaved dogs outside. The Taphouse opens Friday to Sunday only, so plan a weekend arvo.

Black Hops HQ, Burleigh Heads. Black Hops calls its taprooms dog friendly on its own site. Check the current hours on the Black Hops taprooms page before you head over.

Paddock Bakery, Burleigh Heads. Wood-fired sourdough and a big shady courtyard that regularly makes the Coast's dog-friendly cafe lists. Weekends fill up early.

Vets near Reedy Creek
The closest clinics in our Gold Coast vets guide are Reedy Creek Veterinary Surgery, which is actually in Varsity Lakes, and Vetcall in Burleigh Waters. After hours, AEC Gold Coast in Varsity Lakes and SASH Gold Coast in Robina are both open 24 hours.
After the walk: ticks, seeds and bush in the coat
This is paralysis tick country, and snakes like the same bush. After every walk, run your hands over the head, neck, ears, armpits and between the toes, and check feathered legs and tails for grass seeds and burrs. Our guide to paralysis ticks and snakes on the Gold Coast covers the warning signs.

Is there an off-leash dog park in Reedy Creek?
Yes. Tourmaline Reserve on Barden Ridge Road is fenced, and Wonga Park on Cowell Drive has a designated off-leash area. Lead on going in and out, registration tag on the collar, and someone aged 17 or over in voice control.
Can I walk my dog at Glossy Black Reserve?
Yes, on a lead and on the shared use trails only. It was listed as closed on 13/10/2026, so check the council page first.
Are dogs allowed in the Bonogin conservation areas?
No. They're council dog prohibited areas, even on a lead. Use Tourmaline Reserve, Wonga Park or Observatory Park instead.

Got my senior queen Lady (husky x GSD) groomed here when her regular groomers couldn’t fit her in (they would often cancel as well due to her size and hair type). Pets Juicy did an incredible job - Lady came back happy, smelling fresh and well de-shedded. Really happy with the service and kindness of the staff here, this will be the new go-to spot for our dogs. Had such a good experience at Pets Juicy. My dog Monty had the worst mats in his ears and I was honestly so stressed about it. The team were so patient and gentle with him, especially because he’s a bit silly and crazy They really took their time and made sure he was comfortable, and did an amazing job. I honestly wish I took before photos of how matted his ears were because the difference is crazy. So grateful for how kind they were with him. Definitely recommend!

Best haircut in 16 years for my spoodle
I’ve brought my two pups to Pet’s Juicy a few times now, and every visit has been such a positive experience. The team is incredibly gentle, caring, and clearly loves what they do! My dogs are always excited when we arrive! Their grooms are beautifully done, and they come home smelling amazing and happy every time. Always amazing & professional a great team
Sami looked and felt absolutely fabulous after her long haired deshedding service. The team did an awesome job with my golden girl who hates her nails being trimmed. Our vet couldn’t manage trimming Sami’s nails without sedation but the team ensured she had a proper and perfect dogicure. Being a water lover, Sami had some matting which the team were able to also tidy. 10/10
Awesome open space, needed for our local area
This was our first time at Pets Juicy and we were very impressed with our visit. It’s a very friendly space and I liked how my pup was able to hang out with the day care dogs while he waited for his cut. Also the staff was very accommodating, booking was easy and prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be back!

Our big beautiful GSD loves this place. Hes very anxious at groomers but the whole vibe is just chill, welcoming and loving. He immediately relaxed and blended in well.
I struggle to take him in public to dog parks as he gets very unhappy, but id happily leave him here as long as needed. Well managed and run.

Our 15yold Moodle has lots of bumps and lumps. Had been avoiding groomers due to fear of distress. Had been recommended Pets Juicy and couldn’t be happier. Easy to book, lovely reception on arrival and felt very comfortable. And in picking up our dog, he was happy calm and looked wonderful.

Highly recommend the Pets juicy team to look after your furry babies. I was so hesitant and nervous as I’d never had my dogs previously looked after but moving interstate and trying to take our family to theme parks left me no choice but to bite the bullet and try. The team truly cares for the dogs as if they were their own, and I feel so comfortable leaving them here for daycare knowing they’re in safe hands. I would highly recommend Pets Juicy . I popped in this morning to see if they could possibly trim my 14 year old Boxers nail's.
I was in Awe... usually Ruby is a shaking mess and stressed in new situations.
Shane took Ruby through to the grooming room and tender to those nails while I waited.
What I witnessed was a serene/happy atmosphere in the doggy daycare area and Ruby was relaxed on the grooming table while her nails were attended to.

Amazing service! After being told by multiple groomers across the GC they weren’t taking on anymore large breed clients, I came across Pets Juicy who were more than happy to help. Both dogs groomed the next day and was better priced than I expected! Will definitely be using them from now on.
