Dog grooming in Reedy Creek

Reedy Creek dogs live up in the hills, on streets that back straight onto bushland, and most of them come home from a walk wearing a fair share of the eucalypt forest. Pets Juicy is down the hill in Miami, roughly 10 to 15 minutes away via Reedy Creek Road, Bermuda Street and Christine Avenue. Expect patient grooms, thorough washes and calm daycare, with the same team looking after your dog every visit.

Built for Reedy Creek dogs

Reedy Creek is bigger blocks and family homes on the hinterland edge, with active dogs that hike trails and run yards more than they hit the beach.

Working breeds and trail dogs land in the studio with burrs, ticks and dirt right through the undercoat. We deshed properly, check skin and ears, and tell you if anything looks off.

The breeds we see most from Reedy Creek

Around Reedy Creek we regularly see Border Collies, Kelpies, Retrievers, Cattle Dogs and other working types, the kind of dog that would rather be on a trail than a couch. Breed notes: Border Collie, Kelpie, Golden Retriever and Cattle Dog.

Bush tracks, parks and off-leash spots around Reedy Creek

Reedy Creek has its own fenced off-leash area at Tourmaline Reserve, 6 Barden Ridge Road, with a drinking fountain and water tap. Wonga Park on Cowell Drive also has a designated off-leash area, and the City is restoring koala habitat there through to 2031, so follow any temporary signage. Everywhere else, dogs stay on leash and out of children's playground areas. The City of Gold Coast dog exercise areas page has the current list.

For a proper bush walk, Glossy Black Reserve is the local heavyweight: over 100 hectares of eucalypt forest and around 14 kilometres of trails. Dogs stay on leash on the shared use trails, walkers keep off the mountain bike tracks, and this is koala and wallaby country. The City's listing carried a closed tag when we checked in October 2026, so confirm it's open first. Observatory Park, mostly natural bushland, suits a shorter leashed stroll.

For a groomer, all that bush is predictable. Reedy Creek dogs arrive with grass seeds between their toes, burrs knotted into the feathering and trail dust deep in the undercoat. After any bush walk, run your hands over ears, paws, armpits and the base of the tail and check for ticks. Anything that worries you is a job for your vet. A wash and blow dry gets the debris out before it turns into matting.

Questions from Reedy Creek dog owners

How do I get to you from Reedy Creek?

Down Reedy Creek Road, along Bermuda Street and across Christine Avenue to 1/22 Mountain View Avenue, Miami. Roughly 10 to 15 minutes depending on which end of the suburb you start from. Once you're here, street parking is free.

Is there a fenced off-leash area in Reedy Creek?

Yes. Tourmaline Reserve at 6 Barden Ridge Road has a fenced off-leash dog area with a drinking fountain and water tap, and Wonga Park on Cowell Drive has a designated off-leash area too. Leash your dog going in and out, make sure the collar carries its registration tag, and keep it under voice control. Tourmaline to our Miami studio is roughly 15 minutes by car, so a run before a groom fits in easily.

We walk Glossy Black Reserve most weekends. What should I check afterwards?

Go over the ears, paws, armpits, groin and the base of the tail for grass seeds, burrs and ticks, and brush out knots before they tighten. If you find a tick, or anything that looks sore or swollen, call your vet, because that's medical and we're groomers. For dogs that bring the forest home every weekend, a regular wash and blow dry keeps the coat manageable, and we'll tell you what we find at pick-up.
