Dog Friendly Parks on the Gold Coast (2026 Guide)

We checked every park on this list against the City of Gold Coast dog off-leash register in July 2026, because plenty of "dog parks" online are actually on-leash reserves, closed, or sitting inside a national park where dogs aren't allowed at all. These are the real fenced and off-leash ones, sorted by where you live.
A good fenced dog park is a gift. Somewhere your dog can bolt, zoom, flop and make questionable friends while you drink your coffee in relative peace, all without the low-grade dread of a dodgy recall near a road. The Gold Coast has a genuinely strong run of them, most with agility gear and a few with a swim. We've split the best by region so you can find your local first, then work out which ones are worth the drive.

Central Gold Coast, our home turf
The parks closest to our Miami studio, which we know better than most because half our daycare crew are regulars.
Pizzey Park, Mermaid Waters
Our local, and the one we send people to first. Pizzey has a fenced off-leash area with an agility course and a lake the dogs can actually swim in, all a few minutes from the studio. The fence is a lifesaver for dogs whose recall is more of a gentle suggestion, and it's busy and social, so it's a good one for building confidence.

Off-leash: fenced off-leash area with agility equipment and lake access
Frascott Park, Varsity Lakes
Two fenced zones here: one for all sizes with agility gear, and a separate pen for small or older dogs who'd rather not get bowled over by a labrador mid-zoom. There's a picnic shelter and a small car park off Yodelay Street. A calm, well-designed park that suits nervous dogs.

Goding Park, Mermaid Waters
A fenced off-leash park a couple of minutes further along Sunshine Boulevard. Handy as a quieter backup when Pizzey is packed on a Sunday morning.

Scenic Park, Benowa
Benowa's fenced dog park, a solid mid-Coast option if you're closer to the Botanic Gardens end of things.
Robina Parkway and Robina Common, Robina
Robina has two fenced agility dog parks, Robina Parkway on the Clear Island Waters side and Robina Common a little further in. Between them they cover the whole Robina and Varsity end, so there's usually one within a few minutes of you.
Northern Gold Coast
Saltwater Fenced Dog Park, Hope Island
If you're up north, this is the one to beat. Fully fenced, with a swimming lagoon (there's a safety rope strung to the fence), agility equipment, a separate small-dog section, shade, picnic tables and BBQs. It's a proper day-out park rather than a quick pit stop. No toilets on the dog-park side, so plan the coffee accordingly.

Bayview Fenced Agility Dog Park, Hollywell
Fully fenced with a second smaller pen for little or older dogs, plus agility gear, a walking track and a water station. Benches and picnic tables if you're settling in for a while.

Musgrave Park, Southport
A fenced off-leash agility park with ponds for a cool-off and plenty of shade, right in the middle of Southport. Easy to pair with a Broadwater walk afterwards.

Kamholtz Park, Nerang
A fenced agility dog park set alongside the Nerang Riverwalk, so you can line up the off-leash run with a shady riverside stroll. The shade counts for a lot in a Gold Coast summer.
Nick Pavlis Park, Labrador
Labrador's fenced agility dog area, with a playground, picnic areas and a fitness station in the wider park if the humans fancy a turn.

Southern Gold Coast and the hinterland
The south is thinner on fenced parks, because a lot of the famous green space down here is national park where dogs aren't allowed. The two below make up for it, they're among the best on the whole Coast.
Tallebudgera Off-Leash Agility Dog Island, Elanora
Don't let the "thin on parks" line fool you, this is one of the best fenced parks going. It sits on an island in the lake, with agility equipment, little beaches the dogs can swim from, shade, and water stations and poo bags provided. Step-free access from the car park too. It's deservedly popular, busiest on Sundays.

Hinterland Regional Park, Mudgeeraba
The legal hinterland pick, and an important distinction: this is a council park, not the national park. It's a big fenced agility and running area inside 62 hectares of parkland, with shade, parking, and BBQs and picnic spots in the wider grounds. Access the dog area from the Hardys Road roundabout. Worth knowing that the neighbouring Firth Park is a sports precinct where dogs aren't allowed, so aim for the regional park.
Before you go: a couple of honest notes
The council is reviewing its dog area register. The City of Gold Coast ran a public consultation on changes to its dog off-leash areas in early 2026, with a final report due around July 2026. A few parks' boundaries and hours could shift, so check the signage on the day. One to know: Cascade Gardens at Broadbeach gets called an off-leash park all over the internet, but it's on-leash only, so don't get caught out.
Dogs aren't allowed in Queensland national parks. That rules out Burleigh Head, Springbrook, Tamborine (including Curtis Falls) and Lamington, no matter how good the walk looks in the photos. Stick to the council parks above and you're sweet.
All zoomies, not enough hours in the day? A run at the park is great, but a day at daycare is a whole social calendar. Our Miami doggy daycare is supervised play and proper rest, Tuesday to Saturday, from $35 a half day and $45 a full day. And after any muddy park session, book a warm bath and blow dry and we'll get the burrs, mud and mystery smells out properly.
