Dog grooming in Elanora

Elanora sits up on a ridge with Tallebudgera Creek on one side and Currumbin Creek on the other, so the local dog's week is mostly downhill to get muddy and uphill to get home. Parks are big, backyards are bigger, and coats come back carrying a bit of everything. Pets Juicy is in Miami, roughly 8 km north, and we wash it all back out without rushing the dog who brought it in.

How far from Elanora

It's roughly 8 km north, along KP McGrath Drive and Nineteenth Avenue to the Gold Coast Highway, then up through Palm Beach and Burleigh Heads to Mountain View Avenue in Miami.

Elanora is family territory, with larger blocks, backyard space and lots of medium and large dogs who do well on regular grooming and daycare.

Elanora homes often have multiple dogs. We do family bookings for two or three dogs in the same morning so you only do one drop-off. Mention it when booking and we'll line them up back to back.

Parks, creeks and off-leash spots around Elanora

Elanora has two council off-leash areas of its own. Eddie Kornhauser Recreational Reserve, between Guineas Creek Road and Casuarina Drive, has a spacious dog exercise area with agility equipment in its northern section, plus level paths for a longer walk on lead. The equestrian area there's dog prohibited. Elanora Oval on Park Court also has an off-leash area, though sports fields get right of use during training and games.

For sand, Tallebudgera Beach is off-leash from north of Lifeguard Tower 16 to the creek entrance, and Palm Beach South is off-leash from south of Lifeguard Tower 13 to the Currumbin Creek groyne. The catch is the Tallebudgera Creek foreshore between the bridge and the groyne, which is a dog prohibited area, as is anywhere within 200 metres of a flagged bathing area. Boundaries do change, so check the City of Gold Coast dog exercise area map before the lead comes off. A beach run puts salt and sand right down to the skin, and a warm wash afterwards stops it drying into the coat.

Closer to us, Ernie Tebb Park on Mountain View Avenue, the same street as the studio, gives half the park to off-leash dogs. A lap there before drop-off takes the edge off a busy dog, and a tired dog is a much easier groom.
