Dog Friendly Wineries and Breweries on the Gold Coast (2026 Guide)

Every venue in this guide was checked and verified in July 2026: still trading, active on Google, live website and socials. Two former favourites didn't survive the check, and we've been upfront about both below.
A hinterland wine day or a lazy taproom session doesn't have to mean leaving the dog at home. Here are the Gold Coast wineries and breweries where dogs are genuinely welcome, verified against each venue's own published policy, plus the honest news about a couple of spots you might remember from older guides.
Witches Falls Winery, Tamborine Mountain
The strongest dog friendly winery on the mountain, and it's not close. Witches Falls says it plainly in their own FAQ: dogs are welcome at the cellar door, as long as they're friendly, well behaved and on a leash. Bookings are essential (tables run in 90-minute sittings, two hours on Sundays), and they ask you to mention the dog when you book. Their wild-ferment wines are the reason you drove up; the dog-tolerant tasting deck is the reason you stayed for a second flight.

Burleigh Brewing Taphouse, Burleigh Heads
Burleigh Brewing's policy is written on their own site, which is how we like it: dogs in the outdoor area, on lead at all times, and not inside because it's a working brewery. Food trucks, live music and a rotating tap list do the rest. Remember the Taphouse trades weekends only, Friday through Sunday.

Black Hops HQ, Burleigh Heads
The comeback story of Gold Coast beer. New owners took Black Hops on in 2024 and the Burleigh HQ taproom hasn't missed a beat since, pouring seven days with the brewery's own site describing its taprooms as dog friendly. The Biggera Waters taproom covers the northern end. Industrial-estate seating means space for the dog without the squeeze.

Fortitude Brewing Co, Tamborine Mountain
Pair it with Witches Falls for the full mountain circuit. Fortitude welcomes dogs in part of the outdoor seating area, pours the Noisy Minor range alongside its own, and looks out over green paddocks that make every beer taste 10 per cent better. Their published hours drift, and the brewery points people to Facebook for the current ones, so check before you drive up.

The honest update: two names to cross off
Currumbin Valley Brewing poured its last beers in March 2025 and is permanently closed. It was a cracking taproom and it deserves the send-off, but don't drive out there.
Cedar Creek Estate on Tamborine Mountain no longer allows dogs, so it's off the dog day itinerary. The winery itself is still open and lovely if you're travelling dog-free.
Making a hinterland dog day work
One thing that catches a lot of people out: the famous Tamborine Mountain walks, including Curtis Falls, sit inside Tamborine National Park, and dogs are not permitted in Queensland national parks at all. Rangers do issue fines. Build your mountain day around the dog friendly bits instead: wander Gallery Walk on lead, stretch legs at Esme Lahey Environmental Park, then settle in at Witches Falls or Fortitude. Carry water, use the shade, and remember it's genuinely cooler up there, which the dog will appreciate more than anyone.
Tasting day without the dog? Some cellar doors and long lunches just work better solo. Book a day of doggy daycare at our Miami studio and collect a happily exhausted dog on the way home. Half and full days, Tuesday to Saturday.
