From five-star rooms with in-room dog menus to beachfront tourist parks with their own dog wash, here's where the dog is on the booking, with the current rules, fees and addresses so there are no surprises at check-in.

QT Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise

The flash option. QT's 'Pup Yeah' program puts you and one dog in a dedicated room with an orthopedic dog bed, botanical grooming products, local treats, a map of nearby dog walks and a room service menu for the dog. The current deal: your dog stays free for the first three nights, then $40 per night after that. Dogs under 25kg are the sweet spot; bigger dogs are welcome too, just call before booking. House rules are civilised: house-trained dogs, never left alone in the room.

Novotel Surfers Paradise

Novotel's 'Pups in Paradise' rooms sit on level 6 with private balconies, and come with a dog bed, bowls and a tennis ball on arrival. Dogs up to 20kg, $50 per day, and here's the detail that matters: these rooms are only available when you book directly with the hotel, not through booking sites. The BLVD Cafe & Bar downstairs has dog friendly outdoor dining, so breakfast sorted.

BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park, Helensvale

The most dog-committed property on this list, honestly. Every site is pet friendly (two dogs max per site), there are more than twenty dog friendly cabins, 32 acres with dedicated off-leash space, air-conditioned doggy day care, a dog zone at the on-site cafe, and a DIY dog wash bay they've named the Puppy Pamper Palace, which we respect enormously. Bring current vaccination papers, they check on arrival. Dogs stay out of the pool and water park areas.

Quest Robina

Serviced apartments from studios to three bedrooms, which makes Quest Robina the pick for longer stays or the relatives-in-town scenario. It's Quest's designated pet friendly property on the Gold Coast, with dedicated pet friendly apartments. Jacobs Well Tourist Park

Waterfront camping and cabins at the quiet top end of the coast, run by City of Gold Coast. Dogs are welcome year-round on designated dog friendly sites (two max) and in the two-bedroom dog friendly cabins (one dog). There's a fenced off-leash area inside the park, poo bag dispensers everywhere, and even a mobile groomer who visits in peak season. No dogs in tents, and restricted breeds can't stay.

Tamborine Mountain Glades (formerly Cedar Creek Lodges)

New name, same rainforest. The property you might remember as Cedar Creek Lodges rebranded to Tamborine Mountain Glades in late 2024, and pets are still welcome in designated pet friendly rooms, including the Woodlands Glamping tents, the Vistas suites and several lodge types. Let them know in advance that the dog's coming, keep them leashed outside the room, and enjoy hinterland air that's a few degrees kinder than the coast.

Kirra Beach Tourist Park, Coolangatta

Southern end, walking distance to one of the most famous stretches of sand in surfing. Kirra Beach Tourist Park (another City of Gold Coast park) takes dogs year-round on dog friendly powered sites and in two-bedroom dog cabins with a gated, pet-proof mesh balcony. The kicker: there's a dog wash station on site and your first wash is free with a token from reception. Two dogs max per booking, no dogs in tents.
