Dog Friendly Events on the Gold Coast (2026 Guide)

Dog-specific events on the Gold Coast are genuinely few, and a couple of the big names have wound up (the RSPCA Million Paws Walk ran its last lap in 2025), so this is the honest short list of the ones that actually recur. Dates move each year, so we've kept it to the timing and told you to check the organiser for the current date. Verified July 2026.

If your dog's social calendar needs filling, these are the events worth watching for. Two proper anchors, a breed day, and a nod to the dog-welcoming weekend markets.

Paws at the Park, Mudgeeraba

The big one, billed as the Gold Coast's largest dog market. Stalls, off-lead areas and a happy crowd of dogs at the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds. It runs a couple of times a year, typically around August and November. The organiser lists dates ahead, so check before you plan your day around it.

Dogs on the Green Markets, Southport

A free, dog-friendly market at Broadwater Parklands with a proper sense of occasion, including themed editions like Christmas in July and a Howloween around October. Dogs on-lead. Several dates through the year, so follow the organiser for the next one.

Goldens on the Grass

One for the golden retriever crowd. The Golden Retriever Club of Queensland runs an annual fun day, usually in spring, a sea of goldens on the grass. Niche, wholesome, and exactly as good as it sounds if you've got one.

The weekend markets that welcome dogs

Beyond the dog-specific events, several of the Coast's regular markets welcome a leashed dog too, though plenty of the big farmers markets actually ban them under food-handling rules. We've sorted the ones that genuinely say yes in our dog friendly markets guide.

Before you plan around a date

Two honest notes. Dog events shift their dates every year, and some quietly stop, so always confirm the current date on the organiser's own page before you drive out. And the RSPCA Million Paws Walk, the one people always ask about, officially ended after its 2025 "One Last Lap" and hasn't been replaced, so it's off the calendar.

Big day out, big personality. Event days are a lot of stimulation for a dog, and a rest day at doggy daycare the day after can be just the reset they need, Tuesday to Saturday, from $35 a half day and $45 a full day. And if the market left them grubby, a wash and blow dry at our Miami studio sorts it.

Planning the whole outing? Pair an event with our dog markets guide or a stroll from the dog walks guide.

We check and verify every event in this guide (last full check July 2026) and we keep it updated, but event dates change every year and some events wind up. Always confirm the current date and dog policy on the organiser's page before you go, and if you spot something out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
