Dog-Friendly Biggera Waters: Off-Leash Times, Taproom, Vets and Stays
The Biggera Waters basics
Biggera Waters is a Broadwater suburb with one rule every dog owner here learns fast: the foreshore beside Quota Park is off-leash, but only at the edges of the day. Get there early or late and your dog has calm water, soft sand and plenty of mates. Outside those windows it's a lead-on stroll. Add a dog-friendly brewery taproom on Pine Ridge Road and a vet on Brisbane Road, and Biggera Waters keeps a dog busy without much driving.
Park rules are checked against City of Gold Coast sources, and venues and stays were checked on 27/10/2026. If a sign on the day disagrees, the sign wins.
The Biggera Waters foreshore: off-leash, on a timetable
Council's Quota Park page lists the Biggera Waters foreshore directly beside the park as off-leash from 5am to 8am and 4pm to 7pm. Check the signs on the day. Outside the off-leash windows, the lead goes back on.
- Where: Quota Park, Marine Parade, Biggera Waters
- Parking: along Marine Parade opposite Burrows Street, or at the northern end of the park near the playground
- Toilets: none at Quota Park, so plan ahead
- Rinse: beach showers on the foreshore
- Watch for: the pirate ship playground, where dogs are prohibited
Council's Quota Park page has the map, and our Gold Coast dog beaches guide covers every off-leash beach and foreshore in the city.
Missed the window? Head to Labrador
If you can't make the early or late shift, drive a few minutes south. The Labrador foreshore at Len Fox Park is off-leash at all hours, with toilets at both ends of the park. For a fenced run, Nick Pavlis Park on Whiting Street in Labrador has a fenced off-leash area with agility gear. Our fenced and off-leash dog parks guide lists more across the northern Gold Coast.
Local parks: on a lead
Biggera Waters has a handful of small neighbourhood parks, including Stewart Park and Santo Family Park. Council's rule for both is dogs on a lead, and never in the playgrounds. Fine for a sniff around the block, but the foreshore is where the fun is.
A beer with the dog: Black Hops II
Black Hops' production brewery and big taproom sits on Pine Ridge Road, and the brewery describes its taprooms as dog friendly in its own words. There are 16 beers on tap, local wines and spirits, plus brewery tours if the humans want the behind-the-scenes version. It's a high-ceilinged, roomy space, and Inside Gold Coast's 2026 listing notes live music and food pop-ups. Keep the dog on a lead and settled, and check the taproom's socials for what's on. See Black Hops taprooms.
Address: 671 Pine Ridge Road, Biggera Waters QLD 4216
Hours: Wednesday to Saturday 12pm to 7pm, Sunday 12pm to 6pm
Dogs: welcome, the brewery calls its taprooms dog friendly
Coffee with the dog
Biggera Waters itself is thin on cafes that publish a dog policy, and we'd rather list none than guess. The closest that do are a short drive south: Daark Espresso on Musgrave Avenue in Labrador, which welcomes dogs and does puppuccinos, and Cafe Catalina in Broadwater Parklands, Southport, which takes well behaved dogs in its undercover alfresco area. Both are covered in our Labrador guide.

After the swim: salt, sand and ticks
The Broadwater is saltwater, so rinse your dog with fresh water before the salt dries, working into the belly, armpits, paws and ears. Check the head, neck, ears and between the toes for ticks after every walk, paralysis ticks included. Our ticks and snakes guide covers what to look for, and if the beach smell has moved into the coat for good, a proper bath and blow dry sorts it out.
